Description

With the Dexcom G7 standalone system for real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM), you always know your interstitial glucose levels and where they are heading. This allows you to take control of your diabetes – without the need for fingerstick calibration or using them to make treatment decisions*.

What’s new with the Dexcom G7 rtCGM system:

  • New, smaller, and more comfortable all-in-one sensor: Sensor and transmitter combined in one device.
  • 30-minute sensor warm-up time.
  • 12-hour grace period at the end of the sensor session.
  • Redesigned mobile app: Share your data with up to 10 people.
  • Discreet and water-resistant: You can shower, sweat, and swim.
  • New silent mode for notifications: Mute all alerts for up to 6 hours.
  • Redesigned receiver (optional), smaller than the Dexcom G6.
  • No sensor code required: Just a 4-digit pairing code on each new Dexcom G7 applicator.
  • Sensor wear time of up to 10 days (plus 12-hour grace period).
  • Approved for use in individuals aged 2 and above, including pregnant women.

The Dexcom G7 system:

  • Easy auto-applicator – The applicator inserts the small sensor under the skin with the press of a button.
  • Sensor and transmitter in one – A new, smaller sensor continuously measures glucose in the interstitial fluid beneath the skin and wirelessly sends the data to a display device.
  • Display device – A compatible mobile device with iOS or Android (smartphone or smartwatch) displays interstitial glucose data in real-time. Alternatively, a touchscreen receiver can be purchased.

Alerts and Alarms:

  • High and low glucose alerts: Dexcom G7 offers a range of customizable alerts to help warn you about high or low glucose levels. Nine tones are available by default, and the sound intensity can be adjusted.
  • Urgent low soon alert: If your interstitial glucose levels are dropping rapidly, the “Urgent Low Soon” alert will give you a 20-minute warning when a level of 3.1 mmol/L (55 mg/dL) is approaching, so you can act quickly to avoid a potentially severe hypoglycemic event.
  • Silent mode: The new customizable option allows you to mute all alerts for up to 6 hours, better aligning with your lifestyle. Before changing your alert settings, consult with your doctor to determine which settings are best for you.
  • Alert schedule: Do you want different alerts during the day than at night or on weekends? The new alert schedule setting allows you to customize a second set of alerts, providing the flexibility you need for your busy life.

Three sensor placement options: Dexcom G7 is designed for use on three different body locations, offering more flexibility for the user:

  • Upper buttocks
  • Back of the upper arm
  • Abdomen (for children aged 2–6)

*If the glucose alerts and readings from the G7 do not match your symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make treatment decisions regarding your diabetes.
