Description
Manuka honey comes from the manuka flower, a very rare flower that grows in New Zealand. Its short flowering period of 4 to 6 weeks once a year makes it unique.
A honey with unique properties guaranteed by the IAA (Scientifically Guaranteed Activity). The IAA indicates the level of antibacterial efficacity of the honey. The IAA scale consitutes a scientifically proved measure of antibacterial and antiseptic efficacity.
Used in traditional medicine, Manuka honey has a much higher activity than other honeys. Supported by numerous scientific publications, it has unique properties partly due to its non-peroxidic activity resulting from its high concentration of methylglyoxal, an active ingredient specific to Manuka honey.
The high level of activity is guaranteed by the IAA index. The higher the index, the more active the honey is!
Not all Manuka honeys are effective. Alvityl guarantees the effectiveness of its Active Manuka Honeys by systematically testing them.
1 to 2 teaspoons per day are recommended.
Like all honeys, do not give to children under 1 year old.
100% Manuka honey (New Zealand origin) IAA 5+.
