BUSCOPAN FORTE 20 MG 50 TABL

Description

Buscopan Forte contains the active ingredient butylhyoscine bromide, a spasmolytic. A spasmolytic is a medicine that eliminates spasms; an antispasmodic. A spasm or cramp is a powerful involuntary contraction of the muscles, abnormal in intensity and duration; it is generally painful and occurs, for example, in the muscles of the digestive tract. A spasmolytic drug will relieve the spasm and associated pain and restore normal function to the affected organ.

Buscopan Forte is indicated for the treatment of painful cramps in the area of :

the digestive tract (e.g. spastic colon/irritable bowel, oesophageal and stomach cramps, cramps during diarrhoea, etc.).
stomach, cramps during diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, etc.) ;
biliary tract (e.g. biliary colic);
urinary tract (e.g. renal colic)
sexual organs (e.g. painful periods)

You are allergic to butylhyoscine bromide or to any of the substances contained in this medicine.
if you suffer from :
– adenoma of the prostate (benign tumour of the prostate), hypertrophy (enlargement) of the prostate with urinary retention (inability to empty the bladder completely)
– untreated angle-closure glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
– gastric stenosis, intestinal atony (decrease in intestinal tension), mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction (suspected or confirmed blockage of your intestine), condition in which the intestine is blocked and its function is impaired (paralytic or obstructive ileus).
– 2 symptoms: severe abdominal pain associated with absence of stools, and/or nausea/vomiting; megacolon (severe dilation of the colon). – an excessively high heart rate – severe myasthenia (abnormal muscle fatigue) – a rare hereditary disease of intolerance to certain sugars.

Never take Buscopan Forte:

• If you are allergic to butylhyoscine bromide or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine mentioned in section 6.
  If you have :
• prostatic adenoma (benign tumour of the prostate), hypertrophy (enlargement) of the prostate with urinary retention (inability to empty your bladder)
• untreated angle-closure glaucoma (increase in pressure inside the eye)
• narrowing of the stomach, intestinal atony (reduced tone of the intestine), mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction (presumed or confirmed obstruction of the intestine), blockage of the intestine and disturbance of its function (paralytic or obstructive ileus) – symptoms of which include severe abdominal pain associated with absence of stools and/or nausea/vomiting -, megacolon (severe dilatation of the colon).
• an excessively high heart rate
• myasthenia gravis (abnormal muscle fatigue)
• a rare hereditary disease of intolerance to certain sugars (see section 2, “Buscopan Forte contains lactose”).
• In children under 6 years of age.

What Buscopan Forte contains

• The active substance is: butylhyoscine bromide 20 mg.
• The other ingredients are : Povidone – Lactose monohydrate (see section 2 “Buscopan Forte contains lactose”) – Microcrystalline cellulose – Magnesium stearate – Opadray II.
