Composition: freeze-dried carrot juice (95.50%), beta-carotene (700 µg/tablet), rice starch.

Properties: protects the skin, fortifies, promotes convalescence, aids growth, stimulates tissue, healing, intestinal regulator, antimutagenic.

Carrots contain carotenoids, daucosterol, organic acids (linoleic acid), vitamins, minerals, lecithin, glutamine and pectin. Carrots are slightly diuretic due to the presence of potassium salts. It lowers blood sugar levels thanks to a hormone similar to insulin. Pectin reduces diarrhoea, especially in children. Rich in vitamins and minerals, it promotes blood circulation, stimulates growth, improves eyesight, restores tissue, protects the skin and inhibits the development of tumours.

Retinol plays a key role in epithelial differentiation, cell growth and cell division. Beta-carotene has the same properties as retinol and also acts as an antioxidant and scavenger of free radicals in tissues. 11-cis-retinal plays an important role in eyesight. This is reflected in the eye's ability to adapt to reduced light intensity. 11-cis-retinal is a molecule that absorbs light. This molecule, a derivative of vitamin A, cannot be synthesised by mammals. It is formed by oxidation of beta-carotene in intestinal mucus.

The regenerative action of retinoids on keratin formation explains their effectiveness in skin diseases such as psoriasis and ichthyosis. Retinoids can help reduce acne by regulating sebum production.

Studies have shown that beta-carotene can inhibit certain cancers. This has been tested on people with skin tumours and bronchial carcinoma. In general, retinoids have a stimulating effect on RNA synthesis. So it's easy to see how retinoids can play a vital role in cell growth, mucus production, immune defence and spermatogenesis. Beta-carotene has a regulatory effect on the thyroid gland in cases of thyrotoxicosis and hypothyroidism.
