Tobacco dependence

Adults

• Initial phase (3 to 4 weeks): Nicotinell 21 mg/24 h
• Follow-up treatment (3 to 4 weeks): Nicotinell 14 mg/24 h or Nicotinell 21 mg/24 h
• Treatment withdrawal (3 to 4 weeks): Nicotinell 7 mg/24 h OR Nicotinell 14 mg/24 h then Nicotinell 7 mg/24 h
• Initial phase (3 to 4 weeks): Nicotinell 14 mg/24 h or increase to Nicotinell 21 mg/24 h
• Follow-up treatment (3 to 4 weeks): Nicotinell 7 mg/24 h or Nicotinell 14 mg/24 h
• Treatment withdrawal (3 to 4 weeks): Stop treatment or Nicotinell 7 mg/24 h
• Treatment lasts approximately 3 months. Do not use for more than 6 months without medical advice

Method of administration

• Patients should stop smoking completely during treatment with this medicine
• Transdermal devices should not be used concomitantly with other pharmaceutical forms of nicotine replacement such as chewing gum or sucking tablets without medical advice
• Open the sachet and apply the device to a dry skin surface, free of skin lesions and where there is little hair (shoulder blade, hip, outer arm, etc.)
• A new system will be applied every 24 hours to a different application site from the previous one
• During handling, avoid contact with the eyes and nose. Wash hands after application

Smoking dependence

After opening the sachet, it is recommended to apply the device to a dry skin surface, without skin lesions and where there is little hair (shoulder blade, hip, outer arm, etc.) A new system will be applied every 24 hours to an application site different from the previous one.

Each transdermal device contains 35.0 mg of nicotine in a 20 cm2 patch and delivers 14 mg of nicotine per 24 hours

The active substance in the Nicotinell patch is nicotine.
