Important notice: According to the WHO (National Health Organisation), the best way to feed a baby is to breastfeed because breast milk provides an ideally balanced diet, protects the baby against illness and has many other benefits for both baby and mum. We recommend that you seek advice from your doctor, or infant consultant, when deciding how to feed your baby.
Mothers should also receive advice on preparing and maintaining lactation. If you choose to breastfeed, it is important to eat a healthy, balanced diet.
Infant milk is intended to replace breast milk when mothers choose not to breastfeed or if, for some other reason, they are unable to do so. The decision not to breastfeed or to partially introduce bottles of infant milk will reduce the production of breast milk.
If for any reason you choose not to breastfeed, remember that it will be difficult to reverse your decision. The use of infant formula also has social and financial implications that need to be considered. Bottles of infant formula should always be prepared, used and stored as indicated on the packaging, to avoid any risk to baby's health.
Compliments of Nestlé.
