The range of uses is vast, but it is important to bear in mind that each E.O. has specific properties, and that each is a very pure and concentrated substance which requires precautions in use and, whenever necessary, the advice of a health professional.

Phytosun Arôms only offers Botanically and Biochemically Defined E.O.s. H.E.B.B.D. quality criteria specify that the E.O.s are 100% pure and natural, derived solely from the distillation of aromatic plants, guaranteed not modified or diluted, not deterpenated, not rectified and not reconstituted. Each batch of E.H. undergoes rigorous checks: botanical species, geographical origin, method of cultivation (conventional, wild, organic), producing organ, method of extraction (cold pressing or distillation), biochemical specificity and composition (determined by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry) and proportion of the various components (determined by gas chromatography/flame ionisation detector). Quality and traceability are essential.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE :

• E.O.s are distillates of aromatic plants. In their pure form, they should always be used with caution and with full knowledge of the facts, following the advice of a pharmacist or aromatherapist.
• As a precautionary measure, E.O.s should not be used on children under the age of 3 (some E.O.s are not suitable for older children either), or by pregnant or breast-feeding women.
• People with hypersensitive skin or who have never used E.O. should carry out a skin test before use by applying 1 drop to the hollow of the elbow. Do not use E.O. if your skin is red.
• Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
• Food supplements cannot be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
• Never give E.O. orally to children under the age of 12.
• In the event of accidental absorption, do not induce vomiting, but give an edible vegetable oil to drink and consult the Poison Control Centre (070/245245).
• Avoid exposure to sunlight or UV rays if E.O. has been applied to the skin, to prevent any risk of photosensitisation.
• Avoid all contact of H.E. with the eyes, ears, nose and genitals. Never inject H.E. into the body.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Never expose H.E. to high temperatures. They are evanescent and flammable.
• Close the E.O. bottle tightly and protect it from light and heat. They will keep for 3 to 5 years.

Below are some practical applications for Helichrysum Essential Oil. The compositions were formulated by our aromatherapist Muriel Loos.

DIFFUSION:

Overcome an emotional difficulty: to be smelled.

DERMAL METHOD:

Make bruises disappear: massage 2 drops of Helichrysum into the area, repeat 3 times a day.

Treat sprains: Dilute 3 drops of Helichrysum and 3 drops of Wintergreen in 20 drops of Macadamia. Apply as a local massage 2 times a day.

To treat bruises and bumps (large and small): Dilute 30 drops of Helichrysum and 30 drops of Lavender officinalis in 30 ml of Macadamia.

Soothe small superficial facial veins: Dilute 10 drops of Helichrysum, 5 drops of Cistus, 10 drops of Geranium and 5 drops of Carrot in 30 ml of Jojoba.

Reduce swelling: Dilute 20 drops of Helichrysum, 20 drops of Frankincense, 20 drops of Cistus, 10 drops of Laurel and 20 drops of Geranium in 30 ml of Macadamia.

USE ME TO REDUCE PUFFINESS UNDER THE EYES:

Dilute 30 drops of Helichrysum in 30 ml of Jojoba. Apply every evening to the upper cheekbone.
