Isotonic drink when consumed with 350ml of water. Osmolarity: 270mOsm/L. 1 to 2 sachets per hour of effort.

Isotonic Energy Gel is ideal for endurance and intense exercise in hot weather and for athletes who sweat a lot. It also contains electrolytes and citrates. Electrolytes (sodium and potassium) are added to compensate for electrolyte loss due to perspiration. Sodium ensures better retention of fluids in the body and stimulates the sensation of thirst. This gel is isotonic (6.8% carbohydrates per 100ml) when dissolved in 350ml of water, so the number of particles in the gel is equal to the number of particles in the blood. This provides better absorption of liquids, carbohydrates and minerals. One of the properties of citrates is that they act like buffers for protons (responsible for acidification), resulting in a slower reduction in blood and muscle acidity during extremely intense exercise. The advantage of this gel is that it can be taken with or without water. This makes it an ideal snack to take with you, for example for runners who need to have their energy supplement to hand.
