  • Contains carbohydrates for a prolonged supply of energy during exercise
  • Can be used as a carbohydrate-rich snack
  • Low in fat and fibre, so easy to digest
    to digest
  • 4 flavours: orange, raspberry, chocolate, lemon

As a carbohydrate refill: 1 bar (as a snack)
10 minutes before: 1 bar
During: 1 to 2 bars per hour of exercise*. *1 to 2 bars provide 30g and 60g of carbohydrates respectively.

The quantity of carbohydrates available is a factor that determines performance in endurance sports and high-intensity intermittent exercise (alternating exercise with short breaks). That's why it's important to top up carbohydrate reserves during this type of exercise. They help maintain blood sugar levels during training and replenish muscle glycogen reserves.

These energy bars can be consumed both before and during exercise. Before exercise, a sportsperson's body needs to contain as high a level of carbohydrates as possible. To achieve this, they should eat carbohydrate-rich foods in the days leading up to the competition or heavy training (= carbohydrate replenishment) and eat a carbohydrate-rich meal 1? to 4 hours before the competition. Etixx Energy bar can be used as a snack in the days leading up to the competition and during or shortly after the pre-competition meal.

If carbohydrates are not consumed during prolonged exercise, muscle glycogen reserves will be depleted after around 90 minutes. How much carbohydrate should be consumed during exercise? (Illustration)

  • Exercise < 1 h (15): no need to consume carbohydrates during exercise.
  • Exercise between 1 and 2 hours: 30g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise. (approximately 1 Energy bar)
  • Exercises lasting 2 to 3 hours: 60g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise. (approx. 2 Energy bars)
  • Exercise >2.5 to 3 hours: up to 90g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise. (up to approx. 3 Energy bars)

Etixx Energy bars not only provide the energy you need for optimum performance, they're also easy to digest thanks to their low fat and fibre content.

Who will benefit from the Energy Sport Bar?

Energy bars provide the body with long-term energy during exercise. They are therefore excellent for consumption during competitions by endurance athletes (marathon runners, triathletes, cyclists, long-distance swimmers, etc.) and by team and racket sports (football, basketball, tennis, etc.). The same applies to 'explosive' sportspeople who undergo training sessions lasting several hours at a time (e.g. sprinters, jumpers, throwers, weightlifters, etc.) and sportspeople who make medium-term efforts (runners, swimmers, kayakers, rowers, etc.), who will benefit from energy bars to maintain their energy reserves.
