During brief maximal efforts lasting only a few seconds, our main sources of energy are the energy-rich phosphates present in the muscles: adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and creatine phosphate. Muscles contain only a limited amount of ATP, just enough to sustain an intensive effort for 2 seconds. The muscle then breaks down the creatine phosphate into creatine and ATP to maintain the effort. The quantity of creatine phosphate present in human muscles is sufficient to sustain a permanent moderate effort for around 15 seconds.

Creatine is a substance that occurs naturally in the body and is mainly produced in the liver. Omnivores also absorb 1g of creatine a day from meat and fish. It has been shown that it is possible to increase muscle creatine by around 20% in both untrained and well-trained individuals through chronic supplementation with creatine. By increasing the amount of creatine phosphate present in the muscles, they have more energy at their disposal to boost performance during short bursts of intensive exercise.

The addition of glutamine and taurine has a positive impact on the muscle development process.

Who will benefit from Creatine 3000?

Creatine has been shown to increase performance:

• in repeated sprints or intensive exercise (< 30s) with short breaks (< 1min), during which the ATP-CP system is active (e.g. sprints, swimming, basketball, football, tennis, cycling, rugby, etc.);
• in combination with weight training to ensure an increase in muscle strength and mass. Athletes can perform more repetitions per set and recover more quickly between sets.
