What is Elimax® shampoo?

Elimax® Shampoo is a clear liquid composed of a specially developed oil and Lice Protection Factor (LPF®). The special polymer oil has been specifically selected to achieve maximum e et on lice. The mixture has a double effect: it blocks the louse's respiratory orifices and dehydrates the insect's skin, which dries out. Elimax® shampoo contains no neurotoxic insecticides, so there is no risk of resistance developing. Elimax® shampoo does not contain silicones (dimethicone), so it does not leave a greasy residue in the hair. For maximum protection against new lice, Elimax® shampoo contains LPF®. This factor makes the hair unattractive to lice. Hair treated and washed with Elimax® shampoo will be less likely to be infested with new lice.

How does Elimax® Shampoo protect hair from new infestations?

LPF® is a mixture of a polymer (acrylate) and oil-soluble substances that makes the hair surface less attractive to lice. Studies have shown that lice are less likely to remain in hair and fabrics that have been treated with Elimax® Shampoo.

When should I use Elimax® Shampoo?

Use Elimax® Shampoo if you suspect head lice infestation. Check hair after 7 days. If lice are still present after 7 days, repeat the treatment. Elimax® shampoo can be used regularly as a preventive measure.

Contraindications

There are no data available on use by pregnant or breast-feeding women. In the event of head lice infestation during pregnancy or while breast-feeding, consult a doctor. This product is only suitable for head lice (not pubic or body lice).

Do not use on children under 12 months of age.

Precautions for use

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. In the event of skin rash or irritation/allergy, stop treatment and wash hair with your usual shampoo. Do not use this product if the scalp is already severely irritated or damaged.

Several applications may be necessary in the event of heavy infestation (> 25 lice/head).

Avoid all contact with the mouth/eyes (e.g. by covering the mouth and eyes with a flannel). In the event of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. In the event of accidental ingestion or aspiration, contact a doctor or your local poison control centre.

Rinse the product thoroughly.

Leave the treatment to work for 15 minutes, but no longer.

Do not cover your head after applying the product, e.g. with a shower cap or aluminium foil.

Prevent the product from dripping and spreading on the skin (neck, shoulders and chest) by wrapping a towel around your shoulders. If the product comes into contact with the skin, rinse with soap.

If the treatment is used in the evening, make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed.

RISK OF FLAMMABILITY. Keep treated hair away from fire, flames or hot objects (candles, fireplace, hairdryer, cooker, etc.). Never smoke when using or treating hair.

Possible undesirable effects

Elimax® shampoo is well tolerated if used as directed. In rare cases, the following undesirable effects may occur:

redness or irritation of the skin

slightly swollen or irritated eyes

scalp flaking

How do I use Elimax® shampoo?

STEP 1: Apply and distribute the shampoo on dry hair

Place a towel over your shoulders and around the nape of your neck to prevent the product from coming into contact with your skin and clothing. Use the applicator to distribute Elimax® shampoo directly onto the scalp. Make sure all the hair and scalp are covered. E ect a massage from the roots to the ends, paying particular attention to the area behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. Leave on for 15 minutes while combing (see step 2). Do not cover hair.

STEP 2: Comb through hair after applying Elimax®

For an even more effective treatment, gently comb the hair using the Elimax® fine anti-lice comb.

Detangle hair with an ordinary comb.

Divide hair into 4 sections: from the forehead to the nape of the neck, then from ear to ear.

Then comb through each section using the Elimax® fine anti-lice comb, placing the teeth of the comb as close as possible to the scalp. Always comb from the roots to the ends of the hair.

Clean the comb regularly with a piece of cotton wool to remove lice and nits. Each lice- and nit-free strand can be put aside.

STEP 3: Wash hair after 15 minutes (including combing)

First, wet treated hair by adding a small amount of water and massage into a lather. Then rinse the lather out thoroughly with water. The product is easier to rinse out with warm water. Make sure the product does not come into contact with the eyes. No need to rewash hair with ordinary shampoo.

Towel dry hair completely. Do not use a hairdryer. Check hair after 7 days. In most cases, a single treatment is sufficient. If lice are still present after 7 days, repeat the treatment.

Oligodecene oil, foaming agents, anti-lice protection factor (sesame oil, acrylate copolymer), fragrance.
