What is a cough?

Coughing is a natural and essential defence reflex, designed to clear the respiratory tract. There are two types of cough: a productive cough, associated with sputum (mucus secretions), and a non-productive dry cough, without sputum. Dry coughs are accompanied by a tingling sensation in the throat and generally intensify at night, affecting quality of life. If in doubt about the nature of the cough, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

What is Balso Kids syrup?

Balso Kids syrup is a sugar-free, colouring-free and paraben-free strawberry-flavoured syrup. Balso Kids Syrup relieves the irritation associated with dry coughs by lining and moistening the throat. Balso Kids syrup has been specially designed for use in infants from 6 months of age and children up to 6 years of age.

Infants under 6 months of age. Allergy to any of the ingredients. Hereditary intolerance to fructose (congenital fructosemia) due to the presence of maltitol which converts to fructose. Warnings and precautions to be taken Medical advice is recommended for infants aged between 6 and 12 months.

If you notice any serious signs associated with a dry cough (such as difficulty breathing, fever persisting for more than 3 days, repeated vomiting, difficulty eating, diarrhoea, behavioural changes or sleep problems, etc.), consult your doctor. A cough is most often linked to a viral infection of the respiratory tract, but it may also be the sign of an illness requiring specific treatment (laryngitis, pneumonia, asthma, etc.). In the event of accidental contact with the infant's/child's nose, eyes or ears, rinse with saline solution to remove the syrup.
