The Gymnema (Marsdenia sylvestris) is a woody liana that climbs along trees and grows in tropical forests. The fruit of the Gymnema is a long pod-shaped follicle containing flat, oval seeds.

In India (Gymnema's country of origin) and Vietnam, Gymnema Sylvestre is commonly used to regulate blood sugar levels. Once ingested, it helps reduce cravings for sweet foods.
