Chronic bronchitis

• In cases of chronic bronchitis (with maintenance of a minimum pulmonary function of ± 50% of the normal value), long-term treatment with acetylcysteine is indicated to reduce the risk and severity of exacerbations.

Cystic fibrosis

• In the case of cystic fibrosis, oral treatment may be used in addition to aerosol therapy, due to its greater flexibility

Acute respiratory tract conditions.

• Offered as a symptomatic treatment to thin mucous and mucopurulent secretions in cases of upper and lower respiratory tract disorders

Acute respiratory tract infections

• Adults and children > 7 years: 400 to 600 mg per day in 1 to 3 doses
• Children aged 2 to 7: 400 mg (120 to 600 mg) per day in 2 or 3 doses

Chronic bronchitis

• Adults and children > 7 years: 600 mg per day, in 1 to 3 doses
• Children aged 2 to 7: 400 mg (120 to 600 mg) a day in 2 or 3 doses

Cystic fibrosis

• Adults and children > 6 years: 600 mg per day
• Children aged 2 to 6: 120 to 600 mg per day

Method of administration

• Dissolve the required amount in half a glass of water or another non-alcoholic drink (e.g. milk, fruit juice)
• Once dissolved, the product should be used immediately
• In small children, the solution obtained can be administered by spoon or mixed with the bottle
• Sachets that have already been partially used can be kept until the next dose (within 24 hours)

Acetylcysteine EG 200 mg, sachets:

• The active substance is acetylcysteine, corresponding to 200 mg per sachet.
• The other ingredients are aspartame (E951) - orange yellow S (E110) - lemon flavour - sorbitol (E420).
