– seasonal and non-seasonal allergic rhinitis
– sinusitis (facilitates the elimination of secretions)
– otitis media (as an aid in decongesting the nasopharynx)

The excipients sorbitol and methylhydroxypropylcellulose present in Otrivine may help prevent the nasal mucosa from drying out.

As with all nasal preparations containing a vasoconstrictor, Otrivine cannot be used as a maintenance treatment.

Otrivine 1 mg/ml is intended for adults and children aged 12 and over.

Otrivine 1 mg/ml solution for nasal spray for adults and children aged 12 and over:
– 1 spray in each nostril
– 3 times a day. Between 2 administrations
– an interval of 8 to 10 hours should be observed
– no more than 3 sprays per nostril per day.

Use of the nasal spray solution:
The spray pump ensures good distribution over the surface of the mucosa. The dosing mechanism ensures precise dosing and eliminates the possibility of unintentional overdosing.
Take care not to spray into the eyes.
Remove the protective cap. Before the first application, pump a few times until you obtain an even spray. The nasal spray is now ready to use.
1. Blow your nose.
2. Hold the bottle upright, place your thumb under the bottle and hold the spray nozzle between 2 fingers.
3. Tilt your head slightly forward and insert the spray tip into one nostril.
4. Spray while breathing gently through your nose.
5. Clean the spray tip and allow it to dry before replacing the protective cap.

To prevent the possible spread of infection, the bottle may only be used by 1 person.

Otrivine may only be used during the symptomatic period (maximum 3 to 5 days).

A doctor should be consulted if the condition for which Otrivine is being used does not improve markedly after 5 days or if new symptoms occur.

Otrivine is a xylometazoline-based nasal spray (1mg/ml).
In the event of a blocked nose due to a cold or sinusitis, Otrivine 1mg/ml:
– Clears the nose in just a few minutes.
– Relieves for up to 10 hours.
– Helps prevent irritation of the nasal mucosa.
– For use from the age of 12.
– Xylometazoline has no effect on the function of the ciliary epithelium.

The presence of sorbitol and methylhydroxypropylcellulose as excipients in Otrivine may help to prevent the nasal mucosa from drying out.
